velasca tower

Milan, Italy

BBPR, 1956

When it was completed in the late 1950s, it became one of the distinctive landmarks of the City of Milan. The Torre Velasca, designed by Studio BBPR, summed up the cultural atmosphere of the Lombard city at the height of its redevelopment in the post-war period.

VELASCA

BBPR – Out of production

Olivari is part of this historic building with the Velasca handle, in all of its positively plastic expressiveness, designed by the BBPR Studio itself.

Gianluigi Banfi, Ludovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti, and Ernesto Nathan Rogers found the BBPR studio in 1932. After WWII, BBPR promotes new architecture such as Milan’s Velasca Tower (1958) which interacts with the pre-existing environmental surroundings, thanks to Rogers’s theoretical activity.
